Book Club
The Stoke Station book club is a brilliant thing.
In the waiting room on platform 1 there is a bookshelf, with a free invitation to take books to read and donate books you have finished with.
Hundreds of people pass through the station every day, but many don’t know it’s there. It relies on donations from passers-by.
If you would like to leave a review of any of the books you’ve read at the book club, leave a comment at the bottom of this page.
What’s on the shelves right now:
Please tweet @socialstoke and let us know if you’re passing through!
Apparently stocks are pretty thin at the moment – please bring a few books.
Micro reviews:
@ClareWhite my favourite so far was Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire
@Noot54 don’t forget Letter from Poitou by local author
@Noot54 Sandworms of Dune, the climactic finale to Herbert’s epic series started over 40 years ago. Magic.
@clinamen currently reading Koontz’s ‘Sole Survivor’ -spoooky novel and he really adds depth to his characters
NB Social Stoke has no connection with the book club and we don’t know who started it. We just like it.

I would love to donate one of my books. I am an author from Burslem and a member of City Voices Writers forum. I am sure we could help with this scheme. thanks

I am presuming that if someone donates they could do some self promotion i.e. add a label or card inside – within reason I guess!
